  • Inedible plant material (flowers, corn cob, banana peel, grass clippings)

  • Shredded paper (non-recyclable)

  • Used paper napkins, towels, tissues, plates

  • Loose natural fiber (jute, hemp, genuine loofah)

  • Eggs and egg shells

  • Nuts and grains

  • Tea bags/leaves

  • Coffee grinds

  • Cardboard

  • Chips

  • Bread

  • Pasta

  • Rice

Recycle

  • Glass bottles

  • Aluminum cans

  • Large cardboard boxes

  • Wide mouth plastic containers

  • Plastic bags may only be recycled directly at grocery stores such as Harris Teeter

Trash

  • Meat, poultry, or fish of any sort

  • Dairy (Milk, Yogurt, Cheese)

  • Animal or human feces or urine

  • Excessive amounts of liquid like milk or juice

  • Mixed materials (something with metal/plastic/glass/rubber inseparable)

  • Plastic/Saran wrap

  • Rubber/Latex

  • Styrofoam
